Jamaica193 and 116 (Powell 56, Bennett 6-46) beat Barbados 152 and 147 (Wilkinson 61, Powell 4-44) by 10 runs
Scorecard
The Barbados batsmen pushed the self-destruct button, allowing Jamaica to sneak a third successive win in the Carib Beer Cup at the Windward Club in St. Philip. Set 158 for victory, Barbados folded for just 147, with Kurt Wilkinson (61) the lone exception in a pathetic display. For Jamaica, Daren Powell performed heroics yet again. After making 56 in the second-innings total of 116 - they were 26 for 7 at one stage - Powell took four Bajan wickets for just 44 as the visitors pulled off a remarkable win. Having slumped to 27 for 5, Barbados never quite recovered, and though Ryan Hurley (27) led a late flourish, Jerome Taylor came back to clean him up and hasten the victory. Powell fired out Jason Bennett with a yorker to end the game, leaving Bennett to reflect on a match where he had figures of 10 for 82, and still finished on the losing side. Jamaica's last three wickets added 21 in the morning, as Corey Collymore took 4 for 19 to supplement Bennett's superb efforts (6 for 46). Unfortunately for Barbados, their batsmen just weren't up to the task.
Guyana 176 and 153 for 5 (Fudadin 41*, Arjune 40) lead Windward Islands 181 (Murray 51, Sammy 51, Jafferally 3-25) by 148 runs
Scorecard
The match between Guyana and Windward Islands at the Beausejour Cricket Ground was beautifully poised going into the final day, with Guyana looking to set a challenging target. They had made 153 for 5 in the second innings, a lead of 148, after the Windwards batsmen carried out a splendid rearguard action in the morning. Resuming at 58 for 4, Windwards slipped to 88 for 6 before Darren Sammy (51) and Rawl Lewis (34) added 83 to turn the match on its head. Though Imran Jafferally bowled beautifully to take 3 for 25, the Windwards eventually finished with a slender 5-run lead, and then reduced Guyana to 41 for 2 before Krishna Arjune (40) and Damodar Daesrath (38) consolidated with the help of Assad Fudadin, who was unconquered on 41 at stumps. For Windwards, Deighton Butler was the main threat, bowling a miserly spell of 2 for 13.
No play Trinidad & Tobago v Leeward Islands
A soggy outfield, and persistent rain forced the third day's play at the Queen's Park Oval to be abandoned, meaning that a result was almost impossible with only a day remaining. The umpires, Clyde Cumberbatch and Khemraj Barrasingha called off the game at 3 in the afternoon, with parts of the square patently unfit for play.
