Great effort by our young guns December 3, 2000 Sunday 3 December A great win today for the Clear White Ferns against Sri Lanka. Winning the toss we batted first and compiled 210 runs from the 50 overs. Anna O'Leary was in great form scoring her highest international one day score of 91 not out. Anna had a brilliant partnership with Haidee Tiffen of 137, with Haidee contributing 58. Nic Payne came in towards the end and hit the last ball of the match for a huge 6 over mid-wicket - must have been that Verkade chocolate!!! We bowled Sri Lanka out in the 50th over for 89, a highlight of our bowling effort being the excellent fielding which resulted in four run outs. A great victory and 2 more points for the Kiwis!! After the game we continued with our routine of warm downs and pool recoveries before heading off the dinner. A quiet night is in store in front of the T.V. There is a rumour going around that Notting Hill is on Sky tonight. © Cricinfo
