Lanka-India Test under lights

Sri Lanka cricket fans have witnessed one-day matches under lights
since the turn of the decade.
Come February 25 next year, they will hopefully watch a Test match
played under lights for the first time when Sri Lanka host India in
the second match of the Asian Test championship.
The venue for the Test will in all probability be the R. Premadasa
Stadium which has the facilities to host such a match.
The technical committee of the Asian Test championship comprising
former Test players Sunil Gavaskar (India), Majid Khan (Pakistan) and
Ashantha de Mel (Sri Lanka) will look into the possibilities of
playing all four Tests under lights if bad light affects play in any
of the five days of a Test.
If such a decision is arrived at, then the venues for the matches
will be Eden Gardens (Calcutta), R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo),
Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore) and Bangabandu Stadium (Dhaka) - all four
venues where floodlights are available.
Dhaka, has been picked to host the final after Bangladesh displayed
their organising capabilities by successfully conducting the mini
World Cup in October this year.
