Kenya has named a 27-man squad to start training for the one-day series against Bangladesh later this month.

The selection came after several leading players criticised the cricket authority for not putting in place a proper training programme ahead of the three matches scheduled for the Nairobi Gymkhana club on July 19, 22 and 23.

Their long-serving captain, Steve Tikolo, who has been named in the provisional squad left for England last week to rejoin Haveriggs cricket club in Lancashire on a three-week contract. The selected players include twelve members of the A squad who are currently on tour of Denmark.

Squad Steve Tikolo, Thomas Odoyo, Tony Suji, Peter Ongondo, Collins Obuya, Jimmy Kamande, Josephat Ababu, Brijal Patel, Tanmay Mishra, Nehemiah Odhiambo, Alfred Luseno, Ali Sheikh, Elijah Otieno, David Obuya, Rajesh Bhudia, Ashish Karia, Alex Obanda, Jadevji Jeshani, Darshit Shah, Rashmi Gami, Timothy Muange, Hiren Varaiya, Stuart Kayne, Malhar Patel, Jadevji Bhimji, Morris Ouma, Hitesh Modi.
