Joel Reuben scored 42 and then took 3/34 as Ashdod A edged out Young Ashdod by 4 runs in the first of the season's derby matches.
Set 180 to win, Young Ashdod fell just short despite 63 from Rimon Nagaokar. In the other Division 1 games played over the weekend, Be'er Sheva A defeated Dimona C by 105 runs in Be'er Sheva, with the hosts dismissing Dimona for just 118 with Benny Gudker and Shimshon Chordekar taking 3 wickets each, having scored 223 for 9 earlier.
Lions Lod comfortably defeated Ramla by 7 wickets, with Eshkol Solomon scoring 66 as Lod reached 108/3. Earlier Ramla were dismissed for 107, with fast bowler Kapila taking 5 for 29.
