The 2008 season gets underway this Friday, with the sad addition of a new fixture to the local calendar.
Benzie Kehimkar, who tragically passed away last year, was a stalwart of the Neve Yonatan team, an excellent player over many years in the national team, in recent years an outstanding umpire but above all else a true gentelman of the game, and the Benzie Kehimkar Memorial Cup will be played in his memory at the start of each season. The game will be played between the league champions, Super Lions Lod, and a Chairman's X1. Friday's match will be played in Ashdod, with play commencing at 9.30am.
Chairman's X1: Eitan Benjamin, Shmuel Borgarkar, Jacky Divekar, Shai Hayun, Dani Hotz, Steve Leigh, Shmuel Moses, Dovi Myers, Shamu Razpurker, Yaniv Razpurker, Steven Shein, Isaac Talkar, Adrian Vard, Solomon Varsulkar
