English television rights
For 60 years the BBC covered all home Tests but in 1999 they lost the rights to Channel 4. In 2005 the ECB awarded rights to BSkyB, leading to a ferocious row as cricket went off terrestrial TV in the UK, leaving only viewers with satellite TV able to watch the action.
