England are likely to lose the services of a sixth member of their Ashes-winning side for the fifth one-day international at Guwahati, following the leg injury that Geraint Jones sustained at Kochi on Thursday.
"Jones has injured his left leg and is unlikely to play in the Guwahati match on Sunday," said England's media manager, James Avery. Jones made a battling 49 despite needing a runner for much of his innings, and was England's second-highest scorer after Kevin Pietersen.
However, he was unable to take his place behind the stumps, as England slumped to a four-wicket defeat to concede the seven-match series 4-0.
His misfortune gives Matt Prior an opportunity to stake his claim behind the stumps. Prior has not impressed so far in his role as opener, but could slip down the order to No. 7, with Ian Bell a candidate to take over as opener.
