India go into the first Test against Bangladesh in Chittagong on Friday, without fast bowler Sreesanth who returns home Wednesday. Sreesanth, who suffered a calf-muscle injury during the first ODI, failed to recover fully. Left-arm paceman RP Singh will replace him.
"We will see if he is not pulling up right or he is not recovering as we hope he would. Then we might consider keeping back one of the quicks", captain Rahul Dravid was earlier quoted by PTI.
Sreesanth will be missed as he was the standout performer in India's previous Test series, the tour to South Africa last year, which India lost 1-2. He took 18 wickets in the three Tests at an average of 21.94, which included his match haul of 8 for 99 which earned him the Man-of-the-Match award in India's 123-run victory in the first Test at Johannesburg.
