Occasionally a player comes along who has the X-factor, the ability to turn a game single-handedly. From what little we have seen of him so far, Dhiman has that quality. Batting is his major suit and he is a fierce striker of the ball, with more than a hint of Virender Sehwag, or even Shahid Afridi, in his make-up. Throw in his nippy medium pace, and ability to get the breakthroughs, and he is an enticing prospect for the future.
A blazing 56-ball 74 against West Indies in this year's Under-19 World Cup demonstrated his ability; now the challenge before him is to add responsibility to abundant talent and rein himself in when he needs to.
