Mohammad Aslam is a left-arm spinner who represented Rajasthan at the first-class level for 19 years, during which he picked up 233 wickets from 72 matches. He began competitive cricket for his state's Under-15 side in 1988, and progressed up the ranks without rapid success. A workmanlike bowler rather than a prodigious turner of the ball, Aslam carried Rajasthan's spin-bowling stakes for much of his career. The 1994-95 Ranji season was his best with 29 wickets and his personal best figures of 5 for 34 came in a thriller of a game against Jammu & Kashmir in 2005, in which he was involved in a last-wicket partnership of 13 that sealed victory for Rajasthan. Aslam captained Rajasthan briefly during the 2007-08 season when veteran batsman Gagan Khoda was injured. He has been influential in working with a host of young Rajasthan bowlers, slow and fast, including Pankaj Singh.
