The Hong Kong Cricket Team has won the Bank of China Hong Kong Sports Stars Award for the best Team in Hong Kong for 2006. The winners were announced in a prestigious ceremony held in the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wanchai on 12th March 2007.

The Hong Kong Cricket Team performed above expectations to finish runners-up at the ACC Trophy 2006 competition. They beat the Hong Kong Football Team, the Hong Kong Water Polo Team and the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens Team to lift the major prize in the Team Only category.

The winners rececieved the most votes, with the voting composition made up from 30% by the Judging Panel of the Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards; 30% by the Judging Panel of the Hong Kong Junior Sports Stars Awards; 20% by the local sports editors / reporters; and 20% by the public.

Members of the Hong Kong Cricket Team were present at the awards ceremony with the trophy and winners' cheque of $50,000 being accepted by Tabarak Dar.

Sports Stars Awards: Wong Kam-po, Chan Yun-to (body building), Chan King-yin (windsurfing), Cheung King-wai (cycling), Wang Chen (badminton), Yip Pui-yin (badminton), Angie Tsang Sze-man (wushu), So Wa-wai (athletics, disabled sports)

Junior stars: Stephen Wong (cycling), Max Lee Ho-yin (squash), Chiu Chung-hei (table tennis), Chan Hei-man (windsurfing), Cheng Chung-hang (wushu), Chow Yuen-ying (swimming, disabled sports)

Potential stars: Tsui King-man (cycling), Tang Suk-man (swimming, disabled sports), Cheung Man-yee (boccia, disabled sports), Carmen Nam (swimming), Ma Kwok-po (windsurfing), Yeung Yin-kei (wushu)

Team event: Li Ching and Ko Lai-chak (table tennis)

Team only: Hong Kong Cricket team

Sportsmanship: Yu Chui-yee (wheelchair fencing)
