ECB Media Release
August 10, 2001
The England selectors have met on a number of occasions recently to discuss the England One-Day squad and have now identified a group of players for the next World Cup in South Africa.
As some of these players are currently injured, the selectors have decided that it would not be appropriate at this stage to name the ODI squad for Zimbabwe early next week as was originally planned.
The England ODI squad for Zimbabwe will now be announced together with the England winter Test squad and the National Academy squad on Tuesday, August 28 at the ECB offices at Lord's.
The England ODI Squad for India and New Zealand will be announced on Tuesday, October 16 following the England team's return from Zimbabwe on Monday, October 15.
