Wednesday 14th June 2000 @ Harbourne CCC
Birmingham University vs Loughborough University
40 Over a side contest:
Entrance Free: Post Match Ball £3
With Birmingham University being BUSA Semi Finalists last year for the 1sts, 2nds and Ladies, this is one buoyant University Club looking forward to the Varsity Series. Its batting is led by Gloucestershire pairing of Captain Andy Edwards and Simon Cowley, and the strength in depth of the order is represented by the presence of Owen Parkin a Glamorgan batsmen and Warwickshire 2nds Neeraj Prabhu. Fellow county all rounder Jim Troughton spearheads the bowling along with Warwickshire Under 19's Alistair Seal.. Club Captain Rob Walker states with a fair degree of confidence,
"We are looking forward to giving Loughborough a run for their money."
The match is set to be hosted at Edgbaston next year, though a lot depends on the support given during the day by the students of Birmingham.
