Eastbourne's 2,000 Brighton University campus are under general alert to turn the 9th June into a carnival atmosphere. As Russell Jennings points out "It's a small campus everyone knows each other, we will be hoping that everyone turns up and makes it a great afternoon in the sun and raise lots of money for Oxfam."
Sussex and Brighton were both involved in bids to become one of six new ECB schools of excellence, narrowly missing out to bids from Oxford and Cambridge in the Southern counties. This year we hope to benefit from the inclusion of county cricket regular Giles Hayworth. Giles, 20, who last season had brief spell with Sussex county cricket, played in New Zealand with the England under 20s squad, and this year is on the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Squad hopes to add his talent and experience to an already very promising squad.
