Eoin Morgan has been rewarded for his heroics against South Africa on Sunday by being added, along with Tim Bresnan, to England's list of incremental contracts for the 2008-09 season.

Morgan shot to prominence in the 22-run victory that secured England's progression to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy, producing a breathtaking array of strokes during a momentum-seizing 67 from 34 balls, before standing in as wicketkeeper for the unwell Matt Prior.

Bresnan, meanwhile, sat out the first two games in favour of Graham Onions, but his allround efforts against Australia have been enough to earn him a top-up contract worth £25,000 per annum. Both men recently reached the 20 appearance-point threshold set out by the ECB to determine the allocation of contracts, with five points awarded for a Test appearance, and two points for an ODI or Twenty20.

Bresnan has featured in two Tests, both against West Indies at the start of 2009, and nine ODIs in the past 12 months and achieved the 20-point mark during the series against Australia. Morgan, meanwhile, has played in ten ODIs and one T20I, and reached his total in the victory over Sri Lanka on Friday.

Dimitri Mascarenhas and Graham Onions also earned their incremental contracts in this manner, while the England selectors also awarded such contracts to Ravi Bopara, Adil Rashid, Owais Shah, Jonathan Trott, and Luke Wright. Andrew Flintoff was given the same offer, but instead chose to go freelance.
