ECB Media Release
March 12, 2002
An ECB Bowling Review Group chaired by David Acfield, in his capacity as Chairman of the ECB's Cricket Advisory Group, met at Lord's today to reassess James Kirtley's bowling following work on his action undertaken after the report by the ICC Match Referee during England's tour to Zimbabwe in October 2001.
James has worked very hard on his action under the guidance of ECB Bowling Advisor, Bob Cottam; biomechanical experts and the Sussex CCC coaching staff.
The Bowling Review Group concluded that James had significantly improved his action and that he should be free to continue bowling in County and International cricket.
The Bowling Review Group will be forwarding an updated report on James to the ICC.
