The ECB National Academy resumed competitive action today after the Christmas break. Beginning a four-day game against Victoria 2nd XI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Academy, put into bat, reached 103-3 at lunch. No play was possible after lunch due to rain.
Yorkshire's Matthew Wood (7), Middlesex's Andrew Strauss (8) and Warwickshire's Ian Bell (48) were the batsmen out. They all fell to Australian fast bowler Damien Fleming who recorded figures of 3-20. The not out batsmen are Kent's Robert Key (29*) and Warwickshire's Mark Wagh (1*).
