ECB Media Release
August 2, 2002
The England Development XI started the match well, having won the toss and electing to field, they bowled out the tourists for just 128 runs, taking 9 wickets. Sarah Clarke (Surrey) took 3-24 and Sarah Collyer (Somerset) took 3-31 with Sumetra Parajpe making 37.
However, tight India bowling meant England were bowled out for 75 in 40.1 overs, the highest score from Claire Taylor who made 27. It was Parajpe who inflicted most damage again, taking 4-17 from her 10 over spell.
India have two more warm-up matches, against an MCC XI tomorrow and England U21s on Monday. All matches take place at Reading Cricket and Hockey Club, starting at 11am.
The England Development XI are: Caroline Atkins, Kathryn Leng, Claire Taylor, Hannah Lloyd, Sarah Collyer, Sarah Clarke, Beth Morgan, Laura Joyce, Natalie Lane, Kelly Evenson and Stephanie Davies.
