Flintoff: Fit for one-day series Photo © CricInfo |
Andrew Flintoff has come through a fitness test to ensure that he can continue on the tour of Sri Lanka.
Physiotherapist Dean Conway confirmed that there would be no need to call for a replacement for the Lancashire all-rounder, announcing: "He's come through two days of hard training and done everything we've asked of him."
Duncan Fletcher had previously taken the opportunity to publicly express his disappointment that Flintoff should report for duty in Sri Lanka having not informed them of his three-week old ankle injury, but there will be relief in the England camp that one of the most destructive batsmen in the country will be available for the one-day series that starts in the new Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday.
