Leng was England U19 Captain for two years before making her senior debut in 1995. She scored her maiden Test century against New Zealand in 1996, where she plundered 144 runs.
In 2002, Leng and Sarah Collyer were dropped from England's one-day squad for the tri-series against India and New Zealand after taking an unauthorized holiday in Tenerife. But the invaluable Leng was not banished for long as she was called into the Test team to face India in August, and she did enough to be picked to tour Australia in the winter where she ...
