Will Beer was rewarded for his efforts coming through the Sussex Academy with a deal at the end of 2007. Beer, a talented legspinner, needs to be given time to flourish according to Mark Robinson, Sussex's manager, but now has the chance to do so. In 2008 he shone for England Under-19s in the Test series against new Zealand, taking 10 wickets at 17.10, and got another two-year deal with Sussex at the end of the summer.
