A whippy seam bowler with a high action who has the ability to extract bounce from a surface. He is another product of the Lancashire Academy system but spent part of the 2005 season on loan at Nottinghamshire when his first team appearances for Lancashire were limited. The club rate him highly, but a regular place is still proving hard to come by.
