Profile

John Maunders started his career at Middlesex but it was only when he signed for Leicestershire in 2003 that first-team opportunities came his way. For the next five seasons he was a regular in the side without every managing the required consistency that his talent suggested was possible. His best season was in 2006 when scored 959 Championship runs at 34.25 but he found himself released at the end of 2007. He struggled in one-day cricket but ironically he finally made a mark in the same year when he averaged 52.50 in the shorter game including his only one-day hundred.
