David Lucas is very much a journeyman cricketer. A strapping left-arm seamer he started his career at Nottinghamshire but his opportunities were limited by a series of injuries. He didn't appear in the Championship after 2001 and signed a short-term contract with Yorkshire but again struggled to make an impression. Hoping to strike it third time lucky he moved to Northamptonshire for the 2007 season.
