Wisden overview
The elder statesman of county cricket in the 2004 season, during which he announced his intention to retire, Peter Bowler was one of the few modern cricketers to play on into his forties. He made his debut for Leicestershire in 1986, and went on to represent Derbyshire, Tasmania and ultimately Somerset in a 19-year career.
