Profile

Imber Court is the home sports ground of the Metropolitan Police and, as such, is well appointed and impressively maintained. Originally located in the countryside, the ground is now in the heart of suburbia and is located between Sandown Park and Hampton Court. The cricket ground's heyday was in the Second World War when representative matches attracted crowds of several thousand and raised large sums for charities. The new pavilion was opened in 1983, the same year the venue hosted its one and only John Player league match, but Surrey returned in 2003 to play one of their first Twenty20 matches. Both games attracted good crowds.
