Michael Vaughan, the former England captain, has signed a deal to write for both the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Telegraph.

"Michael Vaughan will be a real asset to our cricket coverage," Mark Skipworth, the executive sport editor for TMG, said. "His experience of captaining the England cricket team and being one of the best batsmen in the world puts him in a remarkably strong position to comment on cricket."

Vaughan has been in poor form with the bat both for England and Yorkshire but was awarded a central contract by the ECB last month. He was dropped from the squad for the Test series in India later this year but national selector Geoff Miller stressed that Vaughan "remains very much part of our plans over the coming year."
