35.4 to TM Dilshan, full and straight and bowled him! Dilshan had got across his stumps and attempted to ramp the ball to fine leg - though there was a fielder there - missed again and the ball flicked the back pad before removing leg stump. 198/2
46.2 to HDRL Thirimanne, short, slower-ball, pulled without timing and Ballance swoops at short long leg to take the catch or has he? The fielder is unsure so we go upstairs and the replays almost always rule out these catches even if they look fine to the naked eye. It would appear Ballance got a right-hand under this, although it was a bit of a messy take. I reckon he's got this but will the third umpire be able to tell conclusively? Perhaps not. But whatdoyaknow, he's given it out! Important wicket because Thirimanne was striking it quite nicely. 261/5

5.1 to MDKJ Perera, back of a length, two feet outside off, Perera goes to pull and is late on the stroke, getting a toe-end to Jordan at slip who takes a nice catch, big wicket for England that. Funny dismissal, Perera deciding too late to pull, didn't get in the right position to do so and got a thick edge that went low to Jordan's left, he dived and took a smart catch. 26/1
39.3 to DPMD Jayawardene, length just outside off, Jayawardene tries to clear mid-off and doesn't, easy catch for Anderson down at knee height. Jayawardene didn't get going at all and this was totally mistimed, off high on the bat I think and looped it straight to Anderson. 217/3
49.3 to SMA Priyanjan, another low full toss and swung hard at but gets a wild outside edge that goes high but not long enough and Morgan takes the catch running back a few yards from point, a solid catch taken easily in the end, total miscue from the batsman. 292/8
49.5 to SMSM Senanayake, another full toss but this is another miscued swing aiming down the ground, off high on the bat, and straight to Cook coming in at mid-on who claims a solid catch. 296/9

48.1 to AD Mathews, step to leg, Jordan follows him, Mathews is cramped and tries to swing over the leg side, totally miscues it straight up in the air and Anderson pouches the catch taking a couple of steps back at mid-on. Handy little innings from Mathews, without the explosion that Sri Lanka required for a really intimidating total. 279/6
48.4 to KMDN Kulasekara, excellent yorker and knocks out leg stump. Kulasekara nowhere near it, he stepped to leg again, Jordan fired it right in at the stumps and cannoned the base of leg, England continue to take wickets. 280/7

42.1 to KC Sangakkara, floated up, draws Sangakkara down the wicket, he doesn't get to the pitch of the ball, swings to the off side, misses and Buttler whips off the bails for a very easy stumping. Nice bit of bowling from Tredwell and ends a super innings that has put Sri Lanka in a very nice position. 233/4

1.1 to AN Cook, full and swinging into off stump, huge cry for lbw, not out given but Sri Lanka go for the review. I thought Cook got an inside edge into his front pad but the replay suggests not but he might have squeezed it, can the third umpire be sure that was pad first? He's gone to Hawk Eye and it's striking Cook in line and going on to hit off stump, so it's overturned and Cook falls lbw to a superb first nut from Malinga. 3/1
3.2 to IR Bell, full just outside off stump, Bell plays forward, tries to pull the bat inside it but can't and edges to slip. Malinga creating indecision and it does for Bell, thick enough edge that carries low to first slip, solid catch. Bell could have left it, surprising error considering his confident start. 10/2
49.2 to CJ Jordan, pitched up and swung down the ground - straight to long-on! Struck firmly but Dilshan was lurking in the deep, he takes the catch and starts whooping it up, encouraging the Sri Lankans in the ground. They're getting closer. 290/7
713014.28232010
27.2 to JE Root, plays across the line and a top edge flies to fine leg! Root falls in the 40s attempting to give Mathews the hurry up, maybe just stopped a little in the pitch and it ballooned off the bat, a simple catch for the man down there. 107/4
1004914.90231000
28.2 to EJG Morgan, beats the bat as Morgan advances again... and that's a simple stumping! Senanayake has done England's prizefighter again, he hadn't looked comfortable and this time he raced out, took a wild swipe and left Sangakkara with plenty of time to nudge off the bails. The back foot was some way from getting back. 111/5
1006026.00233010
23.2 to GS Ballance, attempts the reverse sweep, there's a sliver of top edge as the ball bounces through to Sangakkara and up goes the finger! Mendis rolled this out from over the wicket, across the left-hander, it was maybe a little quicker on him, a thin edge, maybe straight off the face of the bat and into the keeper's gloves. 94/3
44.4 to RS Bopara, goes for the slog-sweep, gets a big top edge... and Thirimanne is under it at short fine leg! Mendis shows some ticker and Bopara falls before the climax again. Tried to hit hard across the line, the ball skidded on and looped slowly towards the fielder, he's been involved a lot in the last few overs but he took it calmly. 244/6
