Other organisations

Professional Cricketers' Association
The PCA was formed in 1967 (as the Cricketers’ Association) to represent the first-class county playing staffs, and to promote and protect professional players’ interests. During the 1970s, it succeeded in establishing pension schemes and a minimum wage. In 1995, David Graveney became the Association’s general secretary and first full-time employee; in 1998, he became chief executive. In 1997, the organisation set up its own management company to raise regular revenue and fund improved benefits for members of the PCA during and after their playing careers.

Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations
The FICA was established in 1998 to coordinate the activities of all national players’ associations. It aims to protect the interests of professional cricketers throughout the world. In 2003 FICA was recognised as an official representative body by the ICC, and FICA representatives now sit on the ICC’s Cricket Committee.

European Cricket Council
On June 16, 1997, the eight-year-old European Cricket Federation was superseded by the European Cricket Council, bringing together all European ICC members, plus Israel. In February 2005, the Council consisted of Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands and Scotland (Associate Members); and Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland (Affiliate Members). The ECC also supports development initiatives in non-member countries Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Guernsey, Iceland, Jersey, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.
