Paul Collingwood is set to make his first appearance since captaining England to victory in the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean, when he lines up for Durham in consecutive FP t20 matches against Derbyshire on June 13 and Leicestershire one day later.
Collingwood has been out of action since returning to England last month, after the England management opted to leave him out of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh to allow his long-term shoulder injury a chance to rest.
Stuart Broad was also overlooked for the Bangladesh series, but he too is set to make his return to action for Nottinghamshire, following a period of strength conditioning - against Worcestershire on June 13 and Lancashire on June 15.
England's national selector, Geoff Miller said: "Paul Collingwood has been progressing well with treatment for his shoulder injury while Stuart Broad has been working through an intensive strengthening programme and as part of their return to cricket both players will take part in the Friends Provident t20 over the coming weeks.
"This competition will be an excellent lead in to England's first limited-overs series of the summer starting with an ODI against Scotland followed by the NatWest Series against Australia. I know both players are excited by the prospect of playing in what is an extremely challenging and exciting Twenty20 competition."
