The former South Africa seamer, Andre Nel, has been suspended for two matches under the ECB's discipline code, following an incident during Surrey's CB40 match against Lancashire on April 25.
Nel, who has a fiery reputation, was reported by the umpires, Neil Bainton and Rob Bailey, for a Level Two breach of the code (showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action), for which he has received three penalty points.
Nel has previously received six penalty points and as a result of accumulating nine penalty points within a two-year period, he has received an automatic suspension and may not participate in any cricket under the jurisdiction of the ECB until May 4, 2010.
In addition, the penalty points received in relation to the most recent incident will remain on his record for a period of two years.
