Middlesex's Billy Godleman and Surrey's Stuart Meaker have both received penalty points under the ECB's discipline code following separate incidents in the Second XI County Championship.
Godleman was reported by umpires Nick Cook and Martin Brown for a Level Two breach of the code (using language or gesture that is obscene or of a serious insulting nature to another player, umpire, referee, team official or spectator) following an incident in Middlesex's Second XI Championship game against Gloucestershire on July 23-25, 2008.
Meaker was reported by umpires Michael Gough and Andy Bullock for a Level Two breach of the code (bowling an accidental high full pitched delivery that resulted in the bowler being disallowed from bowling further in the innings) following an incident in Surrey's Second XI Championship match against Yorkshire on August 12-15, 2008. b
Both these players have received three penalty points, which will remain on their records for a period of two years. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
