47.1 to JC Buttler, Buttler goes big... but holes out to long-on! Wide cutter from Jansen and he can't quite get the elevation required, straightforward take for Markram coming in off the rope. But it's been a fabulous knock from England's captain. 315/6 47.6 to SM Curran, scuds one into off stump! Curran was looking to make room but can't get the bat down. Jansen holds his nerve and picks up another vital wicket at the death. Bookends the over nicely for SA. 326/7 | ||||||||||

1.6 to JJ Roy, chipped to mid-off! Roy goes for a sketchy shot, and walks off for a sketchy 1. Pitched up by Ngidi, scrambled seam and he was stretching into the drive, nowhere near timing it properly, and a simple catch plopping into the grateful hands of Bavuma. Roy's respite after that hundred in Bloem two games ago is brief. 2/1 3.1 to BM Duckett, short of a length outside off, fiddled behind! Ngidi has two in two balls, Duckett gone for a blob. Dangerous shot with the extra bounce Ngidi can summon, dabbing cross-batted rather going for a full-blooded cut, and a thin nick is swallowed behind the stumps. England in a "Big Hole" already. 5/2 5.4 to HC Brook, back of a length, flat-footed jab, gone! Brook's bottom hand takes over as he hacks across one wide of off stump and the result is an inside edge through to Klaasen. Did the man moving to cover change Brook's thinking? No attempt to get forward here and Ngidi picks up a third wicket of this opening spell. 14/3 46.4 to MM Ali, bowled him again, this time it counts! Scrambled seam, aiming for the base of leg stump. This ends up nutmegging Moeen as he flicks across it, and rattles the timber. Not much of a celebration from Ngidi, but it might stem the flow. 313/5 | ||||||||||

40.4 to DJ Malan, skied slog... finally the breakthrough! Pace off and Magala extracts Malan via a ballooning leading edge that Klaasen eventually steadies himself underneath over towards short fine leg. 11.4 to HE van der Dussen, A touch of width this time from Archer, and point snaffles the flying chance! Rassie climbs up into the stroke, sensing a rare chance to free his arms, but there's just enough nip away from the bat to take the outside half, and Roy stoops low to his left to prise the opening. 62/2 25.4 to AK Markram, gottim, miscued high to midwicket! Banged in, looked like a bit of a legcutter from Archer, and it comes right off the toe of the bat as Markram bludgeons across the line. Tricky catch for Moeen coming down out of the gathering twilight, but he holds it safely. England chip out another. 158/4 27.1 to DA Miller, pace, 145kph/90mph and nicked behind! Archer rips out another, and he's fired up now. Back of a length and it fizzes through off the deck, Miller is looking to work it leg side but only manages a tickle off the inside edge through to Buttler. England go up in unison, they know they've got the big wicket here. 174/5 39.4 to H Klaasen, picked up off the toes, and gone! Klaasen takes on the back-of-a-length ball but can't connect fully! Duckett sprints in at deep backward square, stoops low, clings on superbly, and the big man has the big wicket!. 278/7 41.1 to WD Parnell, cleaned up and Archer has five! Round the wicket, tight line, good hard length, attacking the stumps and splattering the top of middle. Parnell made room to leg, trying to force the agenda as he needed to do, but beaten by a champion cricketer on this occasion. 281/9 43.1 to T Shamsi, six of the best for Archer! It's all sewn up in superb style, line and length, flicking the top of off as Shamsi hops out of line as well he might. England have stopped the rot with their first win in six. 287/10 | ||||||||||

18.3 to RR Hendricks, bowled him through his legs! In fact, he's Cruyff turned this on to his stumps from wide! Lobbed up legbreak from Rashid and Hendricks had gone back well outside leg stump to flick it away, ended up deflecting off his knee and into the wicket. A slice of luck for England, and the diamond geezer is gone. 112/3 30.4 to M Jansen, wide loopy legbreak, Jansen is across to sweep - but feathers behind! Second for Rashid and England are beginning to close in. He got away with a miscued sweep the ball before but this time the bottom edge nestles in the gloves and Allahudien Paleker doesn't have to think about his decision for long. 193/6 40.6 to SSB Magala, huge wipe at the legbreak, and Magala snicks to the keeper! Lovely flight and dip from Rashid, lots of grip off the pitch, perfect teaser to the big-hitting tailender. The eyes lit up, Buttler's gloves were true.
