4.2 to PP Shaw, and just like that, Southee brings out the perfect delivery. Half-volley outswinger, asking for a drive, but Shaw does it without moving his front foot. He is in no position to cover any swing there might be. And there is swing here. In a rare case, a half-volley has left the batsman squared up. Past the outside edge it goes to disturb his off stump. A fairly ordinary shot in the end, playing far in front of his body and searching for the ball with his hands. He is looking at the pitch suspiciously, but the pitch has done nothing untoward here. 16/1
58.3 to R Ashwin, oh it was good enough for Shaw, it is good enough for Ashwin. Bowling into the wind, Southee bowls the perfect outswinger, starting at middle and headed for the off stump. You need your feet to go towards the ball to cover this movement. Much like Shaw, Ashwin is rooted to the crease, and allows this to swing past the outside edge. Much like Shaw, he looks stunned. 132/7
62.3 to AM Rahane, what an end to a strange morning for Rahane. He ran pant out not long ago, and is now caught at the wicket while leaving the ball. A strange strange way to get out. Southee goes wide on the crease to bowl an outswinger. Rahane knows the drill, covers the line and then looks to leave it. Except that he is not quick enough to take the bat out of the way. The ball tickles the inside edge of the bat, and Watling mops up the dying offering. 143/8
68.1 to Mohammed Shami, that's all over for India as Shami goes for a wild heave. Length ball, outside off, and he slashes this attempted cut in the air. Blundell gets under it near point and that's India 165 all out. 165/10
1825713.16785000
34.3 to MA Agarwal, welcome back, Mr Boult. Agarwal has sort of thrown it away after his hard work for 90 minutes in the first session. Since Kohli's wicket, though, he has been loose and has ridden his luck. Well the fountain has run out. Boult bowls a short ball, which Agarwal looks to swivel-pull, but the slow nature of the wicket and the spongy bounce means he is early into the shot. Gets a healthy top edge for a catch for Jamieson at long leg. This is a wicket Boult has conjured out of nothing. 88/4
1151201.09571000
1633942.43795020
15.3 to CA Pujara, that's his first wicket! And what a peach of a delivery. Just the fullish length outside off, but it straightens after pitching. Pujara looks to defend towards mid-on, expecting the ball to angle in, but it doesn't. The ball takes the outside edge. Keeper takes two steps to his right to pocket that catch. Big roar from the bowler. 35/2
17.5 to V Kohli, what a dream debut so far! The debutant gets the edge, and cap no 100 at first slip makes no mistake. Fullish, outside off, inviting Kohli for the drive. He looks to hit straight past the bowler, but the ball takes the outside edge instead. Taylor tumbles backwards to take the catch, but ensures it stays safely within his hands. 40/3
41.1 to GH Vihari, first ball after drinks! Full, on off, and Vihari tentatively presses forward to this ball angling into him. Takes the outside edge, and taken by the keeper diving to his right. 101/5
67.3 to I Sharma, and Jamieson has four. He is the only one who can get five in this innings now. Dug in short, outside off, Sharma has another fend at it. Just a bit of movement away, good enough to take the outside edge. 165/9

71.2 to BJ Watling, and Bumrah has his first wicket in some 48 international overs. Dream start for India. Bounce for Bumrah. Rises chest high from short of a length, just outside off. He doesn't need to play at it, but he does, and ends up shouldering it through to Pant. 216/6
22.266853.041009000
10.2 to TWM Latham, and India have some luck here. Latham gets out in the most excruciating fashion for a batsman. Nothing delivery down the leg side, angling further away, Latham is strangled and he gloves it on its way. Shoulder of the bat actually, and then the glove. The seam on the ball suggests the ball should move away, but it kept going with the angle. 26/1
26.4 to TA Blundell, got him! Full, just outside off, and Blundell prods forward to defend, but the ball goes through him, and pegged off stump back. A bit of swing into the batsman too!. 73/2
52.1 to LRPL Taylor, stinker! Good length ball, takes a bit of extra bounce, hits his glove, and lobs into the air. Short leg gets an easy catch. They're checking for the no ball, but Ishant is marginally fine. 166/3
74.3 to TG Southee, oh what a gift for India. This is a hit-me ball on the pads. Except it is even worse than that. This is actually too far down leg. Southee does well to get his bat to it, but he has hit it in the air straight down fine leg's throat. That is the only man stationed in acres ans acres of wide open green spaces. What a Sunday morning for India. All the scrap yesterday means such slices of luck count for something. More than something. Game on at Basin Reserve. 225/7
100.2 to TA Boult, that's his five-wicket haul! Back of a length on middle, and Boult looks to tap this behind square instead of ducking under it. Gloved, and lobs in the air, where Pant makes no mistake. Ishant takes five while New Zealand finish with a lead of 183. That should be lunch as well. 348/10
2329113.959911200
62.4 to KS Williamson, the spongy bounce again. Williamson falls short of yet another hundred. Looks to drive at a wide length ball, but it comes off slow from the surface, and he ends up chipping it to cover where substitute Jadeja takes a catch diving forward. He walks off to a generous applause from the crowd. 185/4
2919933.411205400
69.5 to HM Nicholls, Ashwin gets the left-hander. A low catch to his right by Kohli at second slip/gully. Was a length ball around middle and leg, didn't turn much maybe just straightened but Nicholls stretched his front foot straight down instead of towards the ball and as a result, got squared up. A thick outside edge that was dying on its way but Kohli got his hands under it. Suddenly, it looks much better for India. 207/5
90.2 to KA Jamieson, holes out! Full on middle, and Jamieson goes for the big one once again. Toe-ends the shot on this occasion, and Vihari, at long on, runs to his right to complete the catch.. 296/8
94.2 to C de Grandhomme, good length, on leg stump and turning further down. De Grandhomme tries to flick, but it gets a touch off his glove and Pant takes a catch down the leg side. Loud appeal and umpire Kettleborough was late in raising his finger, but eventually does, perhaps because the batsman was walking off already. An excellent innings from de Grandhomme. 310/9

38.4 to MA Agarwal, taken down the leg side! Overpitched, outside leg stump, but Agarwal has tried to flick behind square. It touches something, and the keeper collects. Umpire gives it out and Agarwal is walking back. But Kohli asks him to reconsider, and he goes for the review with just one second left on the clock. What's interesting is the bat doesn't seem to make contact with the ball on the hotspot, so now they're checking for the snicko, and there it shows that there's a very tiny edge off the bat. Agarwal has to walk back, Aleem Dar has given a terrific decision this evening. India lose a review. 96/3
68.3 to GH Vihari, sensational bowling. New Zealand have burst through. Outswinger, outswinger, and then the scrambled-seam inswinger. This lands on a length, just outside off, and Vihari has got to be mindful of the outswinger. The ball, though, pitches and nips back in to go past his inside edge and knock him over. 148/6
72.3 to R Ashwin, and Ashwin has been done in by a full and straight delivery. Could he have reviewed this? I reckon he could have. He doesn't. This is full and straight, Ashwin is playing for the outswing, but it nips back in and hits him in front. I think there is a chance it has done too much, but Aleem Dar and Ashwin don't. Tracker shows clipping leg. 162/7
80.3 to RR Pant, Boult 4, Southee 4 with the former taking a catch at deep backward square. Full on middle, and he slog sweeps behind square. Boult dives forward, takes the catch, and raises his thumb to confirm a clean catch. 191/9
80.6 to JJ Bumrah, one handed catch at second slip! And Southee has five. Yorker outside off, Bumrah looks to dig it away, but it takes the edge and Mitchell dives to his right, sticks one hand out, and it stays in his palms! New Zealand need nine to win. 191/10
2283941.771125000
7.4 to PP Shaw, and the plan has worked. This is excellent planning and execution. Boult digs one in from round the wicket, Shaw is surprised by it and fends at it. There is a short backward square leg in position just for this. Latham takes a diving catch to his left. 27/1
31.6 to CA Pujara, what have you done, Pujara! Full outside off, seaming in sharply, and Pujara looks to shoulder his arms off the session's last ball. But the ball has come in, and gone past his pads before knocking off stump back. Boult is ecstatic!. 78/2
45.2 to V Kohli, he's nicked it! Boult goes short, Kohli looks to take him on by pulling, but he's hurried by the faster delivery, and misses the shot. Takes a bit of the bat and BJ makes no mistake. Failed in both innings (for his standards). 113/4
67.2 to AM Rahane, oh the biggie. Boult does it. This is a really good ball. Angled in, on a length, just outside off, you have got to play at it. The ball, though, seams away a touch. Only enough to take the edge and not actually miss it. 148/5
1652811.75813000
79.2 to I Sharma, ball stays low and Ishant has been caught napping. Full on off, but it doesn't bounce as much and Ishant plays outside the line of the ball. Hits him in front of middle, and that is surely hitting middle and leg. 189/8
