69.6 to ARS Silva, got him! A Rabada yorker will sneak through you eventually. Roshen has been keeping his stride from locking his bat all this while, but falters a touch as Rabada goes for leg stump. Front leg is planted across and there isn't room for the bat to come down. 223/5
14.215403.76616021
41.11012993.1318019000
34.3 to FDM Karunaratne, Dimuth has been strangled down the leg side. De Kock swiftly moves to his right and snags the catch. Umpire Llong raises his finger to send Dimuth back for 53. Tossed up, full, starts on leg stump and spins down the leg side. Dimuth can't get enough bat on the flick and tickles it behind to the keeper. Smart catch from de Kock behind the stumps. Some respite for SA after a wicket-less morning session. 116/1
36.3 to MD Gunathilaka, Oh my, Rabada has pulled off a blinding catch. He tears in from deep square leg, tumbles forward, and takes a ripper of a catch with both hands. Just like that, the two openers have been dismissed in two overs. Maharaj dangles it up just outside off, turns in, Dimuth dares to slog-sweep it away. He, instead, top-edges a catch. That it was a catch was down to Rabada's brilliance. 117/2
48.3 to BKG Mendis, that Mendis sweep. We will never know for sure if it's a weakness or a strength. For now, it's his undoing. A very ordinary end after settling in nicely. Maharaj hangs this up outside off and gets it to dip on a good length. Mendis has extended the front leg for the sweep but it appears he has got his head up a tad too soon. He's lost some balance as a result, and all his timing. This floats up off the bottom edge of the bat and Rabada runs across into the midwicket region from backward square to hold on. 153/3
54.3 to AD Mathews, Wicket no. 4 for Maharaj. Excellent delivery: tossed up, drifts in at off stump, forcing Mathews to play. Then breaks away and bounces to graze the outside edge near the shoulder of the bat as Mathews prods at it. Faf snaffles it at first slip, diving across low to his right. 169/4
72.4 to N Dickwella, there it is, the sweep. He's gloved a rising length ball in trying to fetch it from way outside off. Stumps exposed, body inside the line. It was predictable. Lobs up for first slip and it's an easy catch to bring up Maharaj's fifth five-wicket haul.. 238/6
74.2 to DM de Silva, lbw appeal has been turned down and South Africa have reviewed. A slider from Maharaj traps him on the front foot in front of middle. There was angle in, did it straighten enough? There's no bat on this, height looks good. Oh it's smashing leg stump. It looked that plumb, to be fair. And it is. Maharaj is turning it on. This is a potential collapse from here.. 247/7
80.1 to MDK Perera, finds backward square. That's a bit...soft. It's a full ball down leg side. He sweeps vigourously but it has gone flat and straight to the fielder there. Maharaj is now the only visiting bowler other than Yasir Shah to take seven wickets in Sri Lanka. 264/8
80.5 to RAS Lakmal, what a catch! Markram flies to his left at short extra and holds on, one-handed! He's static there and it takes some effort to get off the floor. Lakmal is beaten in flight outside off. Looks to drive but it's uppish. Stunning catch.. 264/9
104.1 to HMRKB Herath, Herath has been given out caught behind by Umpire Llong. He immediately challenges the on-field out decision. This was full and pushed through on the leg stump, Herath drops down to one knee and attempts a sweep. He only tickles it off the glove to Elgar at leg stump. The stubborn last-wicket stand is over and SL are dismissed for 338. 338/10

20.6 to HM Amla, gone, this time there's no doubt. Sri Lanka celebrate before they appeal, it's that obvious. Loopy length ball, straightens down the middle stump channel and Amla gets an inside edge to the pad that shoots up for forward short leg to grab. 70/4
24.6 to F du Plessis, oh, dear! What a way to get out! Adrenaline. Just sent that soaring over midwicket and immediately goes for another big shot. An ambitious sweep, attempts it from outside off, to the wrong length moreover. Sri Lanka think the ball has grazed the bottom of the bat before settling into the hands of the keeper. Sri Lanka appeal and it's given. Faf reviews. Ultra Edge shows a spike. The SA captain has scored 24 of his 48 runs with the sweep and now he's perished to it. Life!. 85/5
30.3 to T Bavuma, Cracking catch from the man under the helmet at forward short leg. The ball flies off the full face of the bat to the right of Kusal Mendis. He sticks both his hands out and snaffles it. This was darted in at the pads of Bavuma, who chips it to Kusal. Replays indicated that was a full-blooded flick. 114/6
34.5 to K Rabada, and that's the end of it. Spins away from middle and off, Rabada falls for the length and attempts a drive which ends up being an expansive one. Takes the edge and settles into first slip. 124/10
1325254.00527000
1.2 to D Elgar, Caught Dananjaya bowled Dananjaya. Outstanding catch at second slip. Akila drifts one in from around the wicket and then gets it to break away outside off. Elgar presses forward, but the ball dips, creating distance between the bat and the pitch of the ball. It spins away to square the batsman up and find the edge. The other Dananjaya - de Silva - tumbles forward in the cordon to snag the ball even as it was dying on him.. 4/1
3.2 to TB de Bruyn, Two in two overs for Dananjaya. Nicked off. This was the straighter one outside off from Dananjaya, de Bruyn searches for turn and plays inside the line of it. The outside edge is found. This is the challenge for the visiting batsmen in the subcontinent. Which one will turn? Which will not? Which will go on with the natural variation? Keep scratching your heads. 8/2
31.5 to KA Maharaj, Another South Africa batsman perishes sweeping. SA seven down and sinking. Wait, the on-field umpires refer it to the TV umpire to check if it was a bump ball or not. Legal dismissal. Tossed up on middle and leg, bounces, Maharaj dares to sweep and sends a top edge to square leg moving to his right. 119/7
33.2 to Q de Kock, Akila traps de Kock. Slides in with the arm from around the stumps, de Kock employs a short stride and plays around his front pad. Pinned in front of middle. The SA procession continues at the SSC. 124/8
33.4 to DW Steyn, Umpire Tucker raises his finger, but Dale Steyn calls for a review now. Straighter one from Akila, Steyn inches forward and prods at it. Was there an inside edge? No, trapped in front of middle. Just clipping leg, umpire's call on leg stump. 124/9
913213.55383101
8.1 to AK Markram, Herath wins an lbw appeal from umpire Llong. This is the arm ball from Herath, nice and full, slides into the opener. Markram, however, plays for turn, and is pinned plumb in front of middle. 15/3

18.3 to MD Gunathilaka, Danushka marches down the track and holes out to deep midwicket this time. Maharaj claims his 10th wicket in the Test. Maharaj lobs it up outside off, Danushka uses his feet, and hacks it across the line to Elgar. 91/1
20.2 to DM de Silva, advances down the ground and manages no contact as he gets hit on the back pad. Sneaks from underneath the bat and their appeal for a leg before is withheld. SA review. No inside edge - it has gone past it. Now for ball-tracking. Hitting middle of middle. 102/2
79.1 to AD Mathews, slow motion lunge to the right from Faf Du Plessis at first slip to hold on to this. Length ball dipping and turning away slowly outside off. He chases with his hands, no front foot stride and it's a nice little edge that carries at about knee height to South Africa's captain. In a tribute to this match, he labours downwards and stays on the ground after catching. 263/5

48.1 to FDM Karunaratne, faint edge and an easy catch. Loses his discipline and chases this length ball that's on a sixth-stump line. Shiny side outside but it's negligible movement away. It's a tired shot, nudging away from the body. Falls short of a hundred but its been another top innings. 199/4

8.1 to AK Markram, Markram has been given out lbw by umpire Llong. He decides against a review, and rightly so, as it looks pretty adjacent.Straighter one on off stump, Markram shuffles across for a sweep but does not lay bat onto it. Instead, he is struck on the back pad. This is crashing into middle. Has the procession started?. 23/1
30.1 to HM Amla, cracker of a ball from Herath. He knocks out Amla's off stump. Fuller than a good length, drifts into middle stump, Amla goes on the back foot and prods at it, the ball breaks away just enough to beat the outside edge and hit the off stump. Whoa, what a sumptuous delivery from Herath. Just too good for Amla, who was hanging on the back foot. 100/3
73.1 to T Bavuma, but that's the end of the partnership! Herath has had a hard time finding the perfect amount of turn to get the edge. Big spin early in the session today and he beat Bavuma many times on the front foot. But this time, it's on middle and off, and it's sufficient movement away as Bavuma presses forward. Once again, Herath has done it. It's a sharp catch from Dickwella too. A splendid innings from Bavuma ends. South Africa back on the mat again. Such slender margins.. 236/6
75.5 to Q de Kock, reviews an lbw decision after Tucker gives him out. De Kock is very deep in the crease as he looks to defend with an angled bat. Turned a long way. Is that going down leg? Sri Lanka only need an umpire's call. This had some bounce on it too...close...but it's umpire's call! QDK is gone and suddenly, it's Sri Lanka's session. Rangana Herath, you absolute legend.. 246/7
84.5 to TB de Bruyn, five for Herath! This is mastery. It's the work of a man who has 34 five wicket hauls. He has made South Africa's best batsman look like No. 11. What a ball this is. Pitching on the same spot as the previous one, maybe mariginally fuller. Seam pointed into the off side, but it's an arm ball. De Bruyn is looking to leave, but it's skidded into off stump. Takes the best to get the best. An angry roar from Herath as punches the air. This lion doesn't age.. 280/8
86.5 to DW Steyn, Herath wins the duel, Sri Lanka have the match and the series. Steyn jumps down the track and isn't to the pitch of this length ball. Looks to slog, gets it off the toe-end and it's high, straight over the bowler. Long-on gets under it and takes with a reverse cup. 290/10
3049023.001297003
23.3 to D Elgar, trapped deep in the crease and struck on the back leg as he goes back to this arm ball. Looks on first glance like that might have been sliding down leg. But Elgar shakes the head and won't even consider it. Does he feel a sense of justice in not reviewing? It's a very close call - but Elgar's right. On replay, we see that's hitting leg stump. Dilruwan has his foot behind this time and that man Elgar in his wickets tally. At last.. 80/2
85.2 to K Rabada, taken at first slip. The new ball is doing its job and the end is nigh. Length ball turning and climbing away from off. Rabada defends away from the body. Mathews takes an easy one to his left. Straightforward stuff.. 280/9
1926723.52818001
35.1 to F du Plessis, Dananjaya belts out a big appeal for caught behind, umpire Tucker shakes his head. Lakmal calls for a review of the not-out decision. Sharp wrong'un from Dananjaya, spins in from a fuller length, as Faf plays around his front pad and the inside edge lobs off the pad to Mathews at first slip. Ultra Edge detects a spike. 113/4
35.2 to KA Maharaj, back-to-back wrong'uns, Maharaj has been pinned in front this time. Given out by Tucker this time. Maharaj chooses to challenge the decision now. Full and the googly breaks in to catch the front pad as Maharaj has a short stride and plays outside the line of it. Impact in line with off stump. Did Maharaj snick it? Nope, and the tracker returns three reds. Why did Maharaj review if he hadn't edged it?. 113/5
