MTN40

Lions v Dolphins

Dolphins won by 21 runs (D/L method)

Hello and welcome to an overcast Potchefstroom for this MTN40 match with the hosts, the Highveld Lions taking on the Dolphins all the way from Durban. We've had quite a bit of showers yesterday and today with the covers currently being on the square as there is still a light drizzle around. Weather forecasts predict another round of showers later on tonight but hopefully that won't be happening. Play is scheduled to start at 16h15 local time and with the covers currently coming off,we might just start on time. Match Officials for today are as follows: Karl Hurter and Earl Hendriks standing. 3rd umpire is Gerrie Pienaar and Mr Brad White will be Match Referee. News from the middle is tht the Dolphins have won the toss and elected to bat first, putting up a total and applying decent pressure would be their strategy then..Only time will tell whether it's going to pay off. I would just like to ammend that Brad White is indeed 4th umpire and Mr Cyril Mitchley is Match Referee. To get things started for the Lions is Friedel de Wet.
