Ireland are about to confirm that they will play three ODIs in Bangladesh in March, according to a report in the Belfast Telegraph.
The games will come on the tail of Ireland’s Intercontinental Cup match against UAE in Abu Dhabi and while in Bangladesh they will play a four-day match followed by a couple of one-day warm-ups and then the three ODIs.

Who are the proposed opponents in the warm up games? Bangladesh A players or local first class teams?
Posted by: Shaheen at January 21, 2008 1:23 PM
Icelander's are a good team. It will be tough for Bangladesh even to win.

Ireland will be defeated by Bangladesh but i am expecting a good contest from Ireland

Ireland? This team of newbiezz will b nuthin for da bangladeshizz. Bangladesh could beat them with their eyes closed and hands tyed behind their back. The upset in the world cup was luck. Bangladesh usually dosen't play that badly and they have new, better training going on. All in all, Ireland SUCKS!

Though, Irish has cent percent success against Bangladesh, but I think this Tour will be their first ever visit to sub-continent. So, definitely it will tough for them. But, I think, everything will be depended upon their performance of the practice matches I mean their cope up ability. - True Bangladeshi Supporter, Trento, Italy.

Ireland well be hard to defeated since there player are way taller and have been playing well all they need more game to play which Ireland havent played much aganist any of the tast nation team so starting with Bangladesh well prove how far Ireland have come soo far and ofcours Bangladesh should and must play well team like Ireland, when Bangladesd have facing many and more strong team so good luck both of them let just hope it comes down to a better show
Posted by: Tanvir at January 22, 2008 2:46 AM
it will be easy games for Bangladesh, especially in home ground.
Posted by: Truth Hurts at January 22, 2008 5:31 AM
The truth is that Ireland might just push to victory in one of the matches. Although Bangladesh should win the series.

Ireland is a very good team what they proved in last wrld cup. I am expecting a very good contest between these two countries. As per my expectation ireland will win 1 of the 3 odi's.

Definitely not enough warm-up games! A tour to Bangladesh should be the trip of the decade for the Irish, not just a stop-off after playing the UAE. They should try to follow the examples set by nearly all of the other test playing nations, who went on long tours of established nations before they improved. I can understand their situation however, given that they are lacking funds, and unlike the olden days, travel times are much shorter. But they should still be spending more than just a few days playing against the Banglas.

oh guys...cum on...don't be so stupid expecting ireland to beat bangladesh...world cup incident was a different one cause bangladesh was struggling to cope up with the hard pitches in Barbados. But this time they have a very good coach in Jamie Siddons and no doubt the home conditions will also favour them a lot...so dont expect anything other than a clean sweep from bangladesh...!!!

It's a pleasure to see Ireland following up on their gutsy World Cup campaign and stepping up to the big leagues. Asian tours, hosting England regularly, inviting sides touring in England over for a match, they're doing what it takes to step up in the world of cricket. It shows a laudable commitment to advancing the game, and for a sport which has such limited appeal outside of a few (admittedly large) markets, that's something to applaud and encourage.

This time the tigers will go on for a clean sweep on the Irelanders. Although in world cup they beaten Bangladesh but that was a completely different scenario since Bangladesh had to struggle with the hard pitches in Barbados. But this time they have a great new coach in Jamie Siddons and no doubt the home conditions will also favour them a lot. They will also play with South Africa just before this series and it will also make a big impact as they will be playing at home against the Proteas. So, be ready to see the tigers ROAR...!!!

i think bangladesh..can beat ireland..i think tiger can roarsss again...in ireland...

I predict Bangladesh will win by 2-1. They, Irish players, are skilled and cool-headed. They can control the nerve. I hope we will see a very good cricket competition.

A few years ago this might be a good clash between Bangladesh and Ireland. But the form and the experience will count. Bangladesh, now, a much better as a team and having some exceptional stroke makers. So it would be hard for Ireland and that's for sure. But Ireland is good as well. They show their ability in the last world cup where they beat Pakistand and had some close games. But Bangladesh would stand still. And don't forget they will play in their own ground and crowd. So I am expecting a good series.
Posted by: tolon at January 23, 2008 5:56 AM
This should be very interesting. Both team needs improvement. Ireland will play there best and Bangladesh should play hard and put some youngsters how will became a stare. This is good for both teams. As a true cricket lover I wish there will be a good fight. Bangladesh will win but still I respect Ireland team. They can do anything because this is cricket.

Banglades will play for win. Because last world cup 2007 in WestIndies they loose aganist Irland. So they will never & ever lose. I know Irland will whiteash but we will enjoy a fighting serise.

Bangladesh would be looking for revenge, after their humiliating loss to the Irish in last year's world cup,Iam going to every match!

I don't think Ireland can beat Bangladesh again.Home condition will fever Bangladesh. Bangladeshi spinners will give them a tough time.

In the game of cricket nothing is ever written in stone. Ireland is a team with a lot of potential, and my prediction is that they will go places. Bangladesh has experience and exposure on their side...and it is about time they realize that they need to get their act together. Against Ireland, they will need to be tidy, for sure!
Posted by: roman at January 24, 2008 5:07 PM
I dont think bangadesh should take Ireland easy.Or ealse we could see a big upsad wich we dont want to see. GO BANGLADESH....
Posted by: M. A. ALI at January 24, 2008 7:55 PM
I think Bangladesh will be good perfomance against Ireland. I also believed Bangladesh would be a big score couple of matches.why am I saying that? Because of Bangladesh has more experience than Ireland.

Cricket is a game of uncertainty. I am a Bangladesh Cricket team supporter but it only matters who will play the best in the given particular day. From stats Irish team have about less than 20% chance - given the benefit to Bangladesh for local crowd, familiar pitch and history and stats. I am a very busy person but yet haven't missed any Bangladesh Cricket matches from viewing over the Live Streaming. hopefully they put it in the air too cause Its gonna be a great match considering for a obvious thirst of payback from World Cup loss. And for Irish it will be their strength knowing they be playing under some payback situation so BD team will be vulnerable. I bet my money average score will be 270 the very first match cause Bd will come down strong batting first otherwise they will need to get rid of the 3 top order batsman in about 20 overs or we be start calculating hard for a win and strategy. Good luck To both teams and Lets give us some great games and personally Go TIGERS !!!!!

tigers good luck

Ireland are a good team and had a good world cup.
Bangladesh should have won the game in the world cup against the Irish. Although the Irish will put up a fight, i expect the tigers to come out victorious. Joy Bangla!

I predict that the last two of the three match series will be very much competitive. So, I really would like to watch the series of these two uprising teams in a regular and home and away basis. I don't know whether Irish has invited Bangladesh at their home or not, but I wish that they will do so in a regular basis. Which will benefit both the teams strongly to play different condition every year and by that I hope they could become competitive teams in ODI and Ireland can get the test status quickly. Best of luck to both the teams for their better future. Our Love and Salute to Bangladesh. Trento, Italy.

I Think Bangla is a good team.they had already beaten big teams like AUS,IND,SL,etc so they can beat ireland but they will have to work hard.in other hand irish team is also well so it will not easy to beat them.they have done well in last worldcup.everything will depend on ashraful & aftab, shakib, tamim & also mortaja, razzak & rafiqe.so all the best friends.SRIKANT,INDIA.
