PRESS STATEMENT

The following resolution was passed by the General Council of the United
Cricket Board of South Africa on October 4 2000.
The President of the United Cricket Board of South Africa, Adv Percy Sonn,
faxed the resolution to Mr Leslie Sackstein, attorney for Mr Hansie
Cronje,today. According to the resolution, Mr Cronje has seven days from today to make representations to the General Council regarding the resolution.
The UCBSA Council, having taken account of:
1. The content of the evidence by Hansie Cronje to the King Commission;
2. His public declaration that he severed all ties with cricket under
the jurisdiction/auspices of UCBSA; and
3. The UCBSA's authority in terms of its Constitution;
Hereby intends to ban Hansie Cronje for life from all activities of the
United Cricket Board of South Africa and its Affiliates.
The Council further resolves to afford Hansie Cronje the opportunity to
make
representations to it within 7 (seven) days of notice to him or his legal
representatives if he desires to do so.
Resolution taken in Johannesburg on 4 October 2000 at a general meeting of
the Council of the United Cricket Board of South Africa.
