Yogesh Mahtani will lead the Hong Kong Under-15 team which will compete at the inaugural ACC tournament in Kuala Lumpur from June 30 to July 10 according to a media release from the Hong Kong Cricket Association. Other teams taking part in the tournament are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh and hosts Malaysia.
The squad: Yogesh Mahtani (captain), Chandan Kaliandasani, Imran Khan, Zaran Vaacha, Le Roux Louw, Deepinder Dillon, Rishi Daryanani, Dheeraj Daswani, Vinay Sajnani, Anthony Marrin, Raj Putatunda (vice-captain), Colin Bridges, Sunny Hathiramani and Trevor Slack. Coach: Lal Jayasinghe. Manager: Ron Brierly
Hong Kong plays Malaysia in their opening match on June 30. The other matches are against Pakistan (July 1), Thailand (July 4), Bangladesh (July 5), Sri Lanka (July 6) and India (July 8).
"This is the first time Hong Kong is competing in official international matches against India and Pakistan," said Mark Burns, HKCA Operations Manager, "Playing against some of the best young cricketers in the world will be tough for our boys. But they have been training hard, in between their exams, and we're hopeful they'll give a good account of themselves."
