Big earnings from Wills Cup

The Wills International Cup turned out to be a financial bonanza for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which has earned seven crore fifty three lakh fifty nine thousand three hundred and eighty Taka from the meet.
According to a press release issued yesterday but dated November 15, the bulk amount of the earnings -- Tk 6,73,87,880--came in the form of gate receipts from the nine-day mega event. All the nine Test-playing nations took part in the knock-out tourney that attracted almost a chock-a-block audience at the 37000 capacity Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The BCB, however, is yet to reveal the expenditure figures of the meet, organised by the games ruling body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), to raise fund for the development of cricket.
