Laurie Evans released by Surrey

Laurie Evans, the 22-year-old batsman, has been released by Surrey ending an association with the club that has lasted more than a decade.

He represented Surrey's youth teams and is a graduate of the Pemberton Greenish Surrey Academy. Evans played four first-class, two one day and one Twenty20 match for Surrey and, combined with his games for Durham UCCE, has made made 525 first-class runs with a highest score of 133 not out against Lancashire.

With his contract due to expire at the end of the current season, Surrey chose to announce Evans' departure early to give him a chance to find an alternative club with which to continue his career.
