Legspinner Stuart MacGill has been fined 50% of his match fee following an incident during Australia A's first Test against Pakistan A in Faisalabad. MacGill reportedly used offensive language against Mansoor Amjad after bowling to him on the final day of the match and was found guilty of breaching Cricket Australia's Code of Behaviour.

The charge was heard on Sunday in Lahore by a tour committee comprising the captain Adam Voges, the vice-captain Cameron White and the coach Dene Hills. Michael Brown, Cricket Australia's general manager of cricket, said MacGill had set a bad example as a senior player in the side. He added that he would discuss the issue with MacGill once the team returns to Australia.

"I have no problem with players being combative on the field but there is a line they cannot cross and Stuart crossed that line," Brown said in a statement. "It is disappointing that such a senior player would be charged under [clause] 2.6 of our Code of Behaviour as we believe a player with nearly 200 Test wickets should be showing leadership to the emerging group of talented Australian cricketers currently playing in Pakistan."

MacGill also entered last year's domestic season with disciplinary issues after he was suspended for two weeks following an argument with an umpire in a Sydney club match. After beating Pakistan A by an innings and 203 runs at Faisalabad, Australia A play their second and final four-day match, in Lahore, starting on Wednesday.
