Andrew Pratt and Durham have agreed to part company by mutual consent.

In a statement, Durham said that Pratt had found it difficult to break into the first team and therefore decided, in agreement with club, that his contract will not be renewed at the end of the season allowing him to complete his studies and concentrate on a new career as a plumber.

"It's always sad when such a good servant to the club ends his career," said Martyn Moxon, the coach. "However, I would like to thank Andrew for all his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."

"I have enjoyed my time at the club and I am grateful for the support I've received from them," said Pratt. "Naturally, I would like to have contributed to the success the first team has achieved this year but I understand and accept the reasons for non-selection."

In an eight-year career, Pratt made 62 appearances for the county as a wicketkeeper-batsman, scoring 1974 runs at 21.60 and taking 150 catches and 12 stumpings. His best season was in 2004 when he scored 618 runs in 16 outings.
