ICC Technical Committee confirms Bangladesh player replacement

The ICC Technical Committee has today confirmed a request from the Bangladesh team to replace the injured player Mashrafe bin Mortaza with Akram Khan who was in the provisional 30-man squad. In making its decision, the Committee also confirmed that Mortaza would not be eligible to rejoin the squad, even if another player in the Bangladesh squad is injured during the tournament.

Mortaza suffered ankle ligament damage after stepping on a ball in training at Benoni on Monday 17th February.
