Muttiah Muralitharan has flown out of South Africa directly to Australia to undergo an operation for Hernia. All arrangements for his surgery is handled by Dr. Quintus De Zylva, the BCCSL representative in Australia.

Muralitharan will not be available for the ODI Series against South Africa. His availability for the Australia Tour will depend on his speed of recovery after surgery.
