Marcia Letsoalo

Marcia Letsoalo fell in love with cricket when watching the South Africa men play on TV. She kept her passion hidden for a while as she had never seen women play the game, but eventually was unable to help herself and ended up learning how to bowl on the streets of Phalaborwa, her home town.

After some impressive performances for Northerns she broke into the national side in 2007. She looks up hugely to Jacques Kallis for his measured approach to the game, but her favourite bowler in Makhaya Ntini and she is convinced that if she works hard she can match his career path.

Although she went wicketless on both her Test and ODI debuts, she has demonstrated the necessary skill and work ethic to be around the squad for some time. When she is not playing she coaches the Under-13 team at Atteridgeville Cricket Club, passing on her love of the sport to youngsters.
