Stanley Perlman has served Israel for many years as a player and administrator. A top-order batsman, he played for Israel in the initial ICC Trophy in 1979 and in all subsequent tournaments through to 1997, captaining his country from 1985 to 1997. In 29 matches he scored 639 runs at 24.57 with three fifties, although his one Man-of-the-Match award came as a result of his little-used bowling when he took 3 for 32 in a narrow win over Singapore in 1994. In all, he took only five wickets at 81.40. he was a dominant player in domestic cricket, and held the record for the most runs in an over (30).
In 1994 he took over as chairman of the Israel Cricket Association, and in that capacity was elected to the full ICC executive board as one of the three Associate representatives in 1999, serving through to 2008. He is a chartered accountant by profession.
