Frank Filgas made one first-class appearance for Ireland after spending four years in the Dublin College 1st XI. His only outing came against Scotland in 1948 and he never got another chance, hampered by being one of several wicketkeepers. He even struggled to hold down a place in his club side. He subsequently emigrated to Brazil where he played for their national side.
