Tim Tremlett was a useful medium-pace bowler and lower middle-order batsman who was a mainstay of the Hampshire side for most of the 1980s. His best season was in 1985 when he took 75 wickets at 21.60 and scored 450 runs at 30.00. That summer he made his only first-class hundred in a stand of 227 with Kevan James for Hampshire's eighth wicket - fittingly at Taunton, the ground where his father had such a distinguished career. That form won him a tour to Sri Lanka with England B the following winter. After retiring he coached Hampshire for a time before becoming their director of cricket.
